Acts 1:8–26 | Pastor Greg
Just Wait?
In this message from Acts 1:12–26, Pastor Greg unpacks the importance of waiting on God rather than moving ahead in our own strength. After Jesus' resurrection and before the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, the disciples were given a simple command: wait. But as Pastor Greg highlights, Peter, ever impulsive, took matters into his own hands by leading the group to choose a twelfth apostle by casting lots.
Through Peter’s example, we see our own temptation to “help God out” instead of trusting His timing. The message contrasts the patience God calls us to with our tendency to act in haste and force outcomes. Pastor Greg explores the idea that true spiritual power and direction come not from our plans but through the empowering of the Holy Spirit. To trust that:
God is good.
He knows what He's doing.
He is always right on time.
