Greg Opean
Packinghouse’s Wednesday night worship service from September 23, 2026.
As Israel grows into a nation, Jethro sees that Moses is trying to carry the needs of the entire community by himself and warns that both he and the people will eventually wear out. His advice is simple but important: Moses needs to focus on what God has called him to do while raising up trustworthy people and giving them real responsibility. Moses humbly receives the correction, delegates authority, and creates a healthier structure where others can use the gifts God has given them. The chapter reminds us that we were never meant to do everything alone, and that healthy leadership equips others, receives wise counsel, and trusts God enough to let others share the work.
