Matthew 5:1-8 | Rick Cornejo

Rick Cornejo
Packinghouse’s Sunday evening worship service from October 4, 2026.
Jesus continues the Sermon on the Mount by showing that God is concerned not only with what we do, but with the heart behind it. Giving, serving, and praying can all be good things, but they become empty when they are done for recognition rather than for God. Jesus teaches His followers to approach prayer as a genuine relationship with their Father, bringing Him their worship, needs, struggles, and dependence without trying to impress Him or anyone else. As we receive God’s grace and forgiveness, He transforms us from the inside out so that the mercy, love, and forgiveness He has shown us begin to shape the way we treat others.
