Peter says the Day of the Lord will come like a thief as the present heavens and earth pass away by fire, so we should live holy, godly lives while we wait for the new heavens and new earth where righteousness dwells. God’s “delay” is mercy—count His patience as salvation—and don’t let unstable people twist Scripture. Instead, stand firm, guard your soul, and keep growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
