Ed Rea
Packinghouse’s Sunday morning worship service from August 9, 2026.
Paul addresses a difficult passage about head coverings, men and women, and authority by looking at the cultural setting of first-century Corinth and pointing to the larger principle of voluntary submission. The teaching emphasizes that husbands and wives are equal in value before God while having different roles within marriage, with Christ ultimately being the head of every believer. Pastor Ed explains that many of the specific practices surrounding hair and head coverings reflected Corinthian culture rather than a dress code Christians must follow today. He closes by pointing to the way Jesus valued women and reminding us that the greater question is whether we have willingly surrendered our lives to Christ.
