Greg Opean
Packinghouse’s Wednesday night worship service from September 30, 2026.
At Mount Sinai, God reminds Israel that He rescued them from slavery and brought them to Himself before giving them His law, showing that obedience was meant to flow from a relationship already established by His grace. As the people confidently promise to do everything God commands, the holiness of Sinai reveals both the seriousness of sin and their inability to approach God on their own merit. The law exposes that self-reliance and points to our need for a mediator, ultimately fulfilled in Jesus, who brings us near to God through the New Covenant. In Christ, believers are no longer standing at a distance trying to earn God’s acceptance, but are brought near by grace and called to live as His treasured people, reflecting Him to the world. wedpmtext
