Rick Cornejo
Revelation is an unveiling of Jesus—not a scare manual, but a promise of blessing to those who read, hear, and keep it. God gives the revelation to Jesus, through an angel, to John (the apostle), for the seven churches, anchoring us in grace and peace from the One who is, who was, and who is to come. John frames the Spirit (the “seven spirits”) and exalts Jesus as the faithful witness, firstborn from the dead, ruler of kings—who loved us, washed us in his blood, and made us a kingdom of priests. The passage declares his certain return: he’s coming with the clouds and every eye will see him. He is the Alpha and Omega; history is not falling apart but falling into place. Our response: cling to this word, keep it close like a lantern in the dark, and fix our eyes on Jesus throughout the book.
