Paul encourages the church to pursue love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, reminding believers that these gifts are meant to strengthen and encourage others rather than draw attention to ourselves. He explains the difference between speaking in tongues and prophecy, emphasizing that when the church gathers, what is spoken should be understandable and beneficial to everyone. The gift of prophecy allows the Holy Spirit to speak through ordinary believers, bringing encouragement, comfort, and truth to those who need it. As we grow in our relationship with Jesus, we are called to make ourselves available to the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to use our words and lives to build up the church and share the good news of salvation with others.
