Celebration of Life for Debra Lynn Hanson

Obituary STOUGHTON - Debra Lyn Hanson, age 67, of Stoughton, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, at Agrace Center for Hospice & Palliative Care. She was born on Aug. 27, 1955, in New Berlin, Wis., the daughter of William and Audrey (Gressen) Malecki. Debra graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1974. After graduation she attended Waukesha County Technical College where she studied medical assisting. Debra worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant after graduating. She left the medical field and was a stay-at-home mom raising her five kids. Later, Debra worked at various jobs like Target, SSD, McCain Food, Stoughton Trailers, and Simmons Mattresses. She made many friends along the way. She then went on disability due to medical issues. The simple things in life made Debra happy. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, and had a big love for plants. She loved snuggling with her cats. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and grandkids. Debra had a big heart and touched many people’s lives in the short time she was here. She would go out of her way to help anyone that needed it. She will be missed by many. Debra is survived by her former husband, Jeff Hanson; daughter Jessica (Rob) Nuti; sons, Josh (Anna) Hanson and John (Jackie) Hanson; sisters, Kathy (Bob) Malecki, Cheryl (Tom) Butka, Christine Malecki, and Karen (Jack) Cowles; and brothers, Phillip (Jayne) Malecki, and Michael (Lisa) Malecki. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeff Hanson; daughter, Sarah Teague; and brother, Bruce Malecki.
